Take the Pledge!

I hereby make a personal pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls. I further pledge to take action by being a good role model for young men, by discouraging degrading language, jokes, and conversations which objectify women, and by supporting the women in my life who are survivors of violence.

A Letter to Burton regarding LOVE™ Boards

A Call To Men- Cumberland County has joined with other Violence Prevention Organizations to call on Burton Snowboard's CEO, Jake Burton Carpenter, to recognize the negative impact of Burton’s marketing and sales of their new line of  LOVE™ boards on young men and women and to stop making and selling them.  These boards feature photographs of nude models and are marketed using extremely degrading language.
