The Art of Boys

Hold Me Down

Put in Work

My name is Mark Otim. I go by M.O, and am a Sudanese refugee and a rapper. When I was born a war started on my village and it had everyone running for their lives. My mom and dad ran with me and eight of my brothers and sisters to Uganda where we lived in a refugee camp for almost half of my life. I use my music to show people what I've been through in life. I am not only trying to reach out to my people back home but I'm also trying to reach out to everyone out there in the struggle. I'm trying to reach out to the kids who never got the chance to go out and follow their dreams. I make music because I know what it feels like to have nothing and to be nobody. I use my music to highlight the plight of his people, I do this because the sky is the limit and you won't know the truth till you see it.
Hello my name is Adrian Matos. I am 18 years old and I am currently attending the University of Maine in Orono. I went to high school in Portland, Maine. The school was Deering, so I am a ram at heart. Life wasn't easy before moving to Maine. I lived a very bad life filled with crime like stealing and selling drugs and using them. The sad part about this is that all of this nonsense started when I was 12. Although I was living out on the streets on my own I never dropped out of school because I had a dream to go to college. When I moved to Maine my mom kicked me out and my step mom took me to live with her and she got me all the way to college. I am a very determined person. I taught myself how to Puerto Rican dance, act, and play the guitar. I love to entertain people and maybe someday I will be a big someone in the world. I live life by this: dream big and shoot for the stars because one day you will fly like a shooting star if it's destined to be.
